What is the absolute BEST thing that could happen today? Say what? Yeah, exactly—it’s not often that we think in such a way. Instead, we tend to think about the worst possible outcome. But why? Dwelling on the potential negative doesn’t make us feel any better. And we aren’t more “prepared” for whatever happens, good or bad.
So, today, I encourage you to dream of the best that could happen.
When was the last time you just dreamt without hesitation? By that, I mean dreaming about the future without your critical, overthinking mind stopping you. The last time was probably when you were a kid, when you dreamt of what your life was going to be.
I never doubted that I was going to be a supermodel, an Academy Award-winning actress, and a badass lawyer. Yup, you read that correctly—I was going to be all three! I was going to do it all, living in both New York City and Los Angeles. My dreams and goals were so freaking vivid!
How fun—and freeing—to allow myself the space to have those dreams and thoughts of a bright and thriving future.
On the other side of this beautiful coin of dreaming is that nasty emotion called “worry.” Ugh. For the most part, worrying will destroy your happiness and ruin your mood. In fact, it kinda makes everything worse than it actually is. When was the last time that your worries ended as you imagined? Probably never.
Whatever you are worried about or stressing over, I invite you take a step back, flip the script, and ask yourself: What’s the best that could happen?
Because why the hell not? Life is too short to fear the worst. Worrying is a waste of time and energy, and it doesn’t change a damn thing! All it does is steal your joy and keep you very busy doing nothing.
So start doing something, and let your imagination come back to life. Have fun, play, and DREAM about the absolute best that could happen!
